It's the gala we've been building up to where for the first time ever, you the good people at home have voted for the locomotive line up you want to see at this event. You've picked them now come ride behind them!
On the weekend of June 24th & 25th we will be running an intensive gala timetable (timetable to be published closer to the event) with the following locomotive line up.
10 1/4 Rebuilt Bulleid Pacific "Cunard White Star"
10 1/4 Great Central Railway 8K no. 102
10 1/4 2000 class Bullock Pacific "Coronation"
10 1/4 A4 Pacific "Sir Nigel Gresley"
10 1/4 LBSCR Atlantic "Ernest Henry Upton"
10 1/4 Class 47 "Thunderbolt"
7 1/4 Romulus locomotive "Sanjo"
Along with this marvellous locomotive line up we have some special trains running over the weekend.
On the Saturday:
- At 09:00 we will be running a breakfast special Lakes Express. The train will do an approximate 3 mile run of the railway as well as all passengers receiving a voucher for a breakfast bap to claim upon their return. (Passengers must buy either a return or day rover for this train, this train is first come first served)
- At Lunchtime we will launching a new train. The Lunchtime Limited in which one of our loco's will take you on a non-stop 2 1/2 mile double round trip of the railway starting and terminating into platform 3. In true express train style! (Return tickets or day rovers only)
On the Sunday:
- At 09:15 we will be running a breakfast special with a parallel run of two engines racing each other along the line. Day Rovers or return tickets only on this train. All passengers will receive a voucher for a breakfast bap to claim after their journey. (First come first served on this train)
- The final train of the day will be hauled by 5 of the engines coupling together and run a non-stop express run of the railway. Bringing the gala to a close in true style!
Lots of trains & lots of fun! We recommend a Day Rover ticket for your visit. This ticket will give you UNLIMITED RIDES for the entire day!
