Hello to all our customers, we hope that you have all stayed safe during these very difficult times. Lately we have received inquiries regarding a date of when the railway will be re-opening. We have been following government advice/updates throughout the epidemic, but we are now pleased to announce we will be running trains again at WEEKENDS ONLY for the time being. The train service will be a little different to what we have done before while we have to abide by social distancing regulations.

We will be operating a return service only and trains will not be stopping at Monks Brook Halt. Please Note There will be NO TOILETS on site or in the park.   We will be reviewing the situation in accordance with official advice and we are aiming to be able to provide our usual full service as soon as it is safe to do so. However, we must stress if passenger numbers peak, we will reserve the right to close our doors temporarily to allow numbers to reduce. Thank you all and stay safe!

Please note  -  our telephone line will not be manned during the week.  We will answer calls over the week end as and when we can. Please bear with us, our staff have to be Covid secure as well.

T&C apply

Something recently brought to our attention which we would like to address is that whilst we encourage people to use the country park and enjoy it's natural beauty. We do ask that you DO NOT walk on our railway line please, especially as we are soon to open up with public running.

The perfect day out with the kids in Hampshire

Eastleigh Lakeside Steam Railway is a popular attraction near to Southampton, perfect for a day out with the kids at the weekend or during school holidays. Our steam trains run from the main station at Eastleigh Parkway to Monks Brook Halt, offering the opportunity to visit the lakes, children’s playground and use the picnic tables for refreshments. The steam train returns back to the main station from Monks Brook Halt, with the entire trip totalling 15-20 minutes.

Our souvenir shop stocks the full range of Thomas and Bigjigs models for budding steam train enthusiasts!

We believe we have the largest collection of Miniature locomotives on a commercial railway, with a total of 24 in the collection; 21 being steam powered and most of them are in steam on gala days.

Please note that Dogs are more than welcome at the railway.  They are allowed everywhere, including the cafe.  Dogs travel free on the trains.
